Michel Dard

Professor Michel M. Dard is a globally recognized expert in implant dentistry, biomaterials, and regenerative medicine. He trained in France (Universities of Bordeaux and Nantes) and at New York University, where he also served as faculty. He currently holds academic appointments as Adjunct Professor at Columbia University and Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington. His distinguished career spans both academia and industry, including leadership roles at Merck, INSERM-NIH, the European Commission, and nearly two decades at Straumann Group, where he served as Global Medical Director and led innovations in preclinical research and clinical development. Professor Dard is the co-founder of BioCellgraft, a regenerative dentistry company, and a pioneer in real-world evidence (RWE) and Dental Communities of Practice (CoP). He has authored over 170 peer-reviewed publications and in 2023 published the textbook “Surgical Research in Implant Dentistry” (Springer Nature). He lectures internationally on medical devices, tissue regeneration, implant systems, and surgical rehabilitation science.
