Adrián Hernández

Adrián Hernández is the Founder and CEO of PIC Dental, the company that brought photogrammetry into the heart of modern digital dentistry. Before entering the dental world, Adrián worked as an engineer specializing in 3D scanners, reverse engineering, CAD/CAM systems, and quality control software for the aerospace and automotive industries. The idea that changed his life came unexpectedly in 2008, during a family dinner, when his father’s full-arch metal-ceramic prosthesis — supported by seven implants — suddenly fractured. Although it had fit perfectly on a plaster model, it failed in the mouth due to microscopic inaccuracies. Driven by his engineering mindset, Adrián set out to find a better solution. Realizing that existing 3D scanning systems lacked the precision and accessibility dentistry needed, he quit his job and, later that year, founded PIC Dental in Madrid. The PIC System was launched at Expodental 2010, marking the birth of dental photogrammetry — a technology that has since become the global gold standard for precision in implant prosthetics. Today, Adrián continues to lead PIC Dental in making high-accuracy digital workflows accessible to clinicians around the world.
